BIM Standards

The standards and schemas we deliver against, explained without the acronym soup.

ISO 19650-1Concepts and principles: Defines the vocabulary and the information management lifecycle — appointing parties, delivery teams, information containers and the common data environment.
ISO 19650-2Delivery phase of assets: The process standard for the capital delivery phase: exchange information requirements, execution plans, responsibility matrices and delivery planning.
ISO 19650-3Operational phase: Extends the same principles into operations, covering how asset information is maintained and updated once the building is in use.
LOD / LOINLevel of information need: How much detail an element carries at a given stage. LOD describes geometry; LOIN is the broader requirement covering geometry, data and documentation together.
IFCIndustry Foundation Classes: The open exchange schema. Used for handover, cross-platform coordination, and any case where a client should not be locked to one vendor's file format.
COBieConstruction Operations Building information exchange: A structured spreadsheet format for asset handover data. A transport format rather than a specification — the fields still have to match the client's FM system.
