The situation
Forty-two floors on a compressed programme, with three MEP subcontractors each modelling to their own conventions. The first federated model produced over 9,000 clashes and no agreed owner for any of them. Coordination meetings had become arguments about whose drawing was correct.
What we did
We rebuilt the BEP around an enforceable naming and ownership standard, migrated all parties onto a single CDE with status codes, and replaced the raw clash export with a rule-based matrix triaged by construction impact. Coordination moved to a fixed weekly cycle with a published federated release.
Outcome
The open clash count fell below 200 within nine weeks and stayed there. The 4D sequence became the working reference in progress meetings, and no MEP-related RFI reached site during the core structure phase.
